LPG carrier Pacific Yantai, owned by Pacific Gas (Hong Kong) Holdings Ltd. ('Pacific Gas') has achieved a new milestone at Donghua Energy Terminal in Zhangjiagang's Funan Waterway, becoming the deepest-draft vessel to berth at the facility with a maximum draft of 11.45 meters. The 46,085-ton LPG shipment highlights the terminal's capability to handle larger gas carriers despite its challenging navigation conditions, which provided secure for China's growing energy import needs.

The Donghua terminal's narrow approach and tight turning basin make berthing operations difficult for large gas carriers. To ensure a safe arrival, Pacific Gas worked closely with Zhangjiagang maritime authorities and pilotage services, implementing a detailed berthing plan with enhanced risk mitigation measures. The successful operation sets a precedent for future LPG shipments at the terminal and strengthens Pacific Gas's expertise in managing complex port calls.
