The 6th VLEC Cleared for Delivery After Successful Sea Trials
2025/08/28
  • Pacific Gas's sixth VLEC (H2648) has recently completed its sea trial, setting the stage for on-time delivery and entry into service.

  • Constructed at Jiangnan Shipyard (Group) Co., Ltd. with work commencing in June 2024, the vessel's build phase saw close collaboration between the Pacific Gas's onsite supervision team and the yard. Drawing on experience from earlier ships in the same series, the partners refined construction techniques, supervision standards and inspection procedures. The joint effort drove optimization across the full construction process and supply chain, allowing the project to largely overcome challenges posed by complex sea conditions during the peak typhoon season. All sea trial objectives were met, with post-trial verification confirming the vessel's performance metrics meet first-class international standards.

  • Once in operation, the carrier will provide ethane transportation for INEOS Group, bolstering Pacific Gas's position in the global ethane shipping market and contributing renewed momentum to the stability of the worldwide energy logistics chain.
